Sunday Steals: Christian Louboutin Bridget Strass Pumps for Pennies

My loves, to the left we have Christian Louboutin’s blinged out Bridget Strass Pumps – the very same ones seen gracing not only the tootsies of Carrie Bradshaw (aka Sarah Jessica Parker) in Sex and the City 2, but Olivia Palermo, Scarlett Johansson, and Leelee Sobieski, as well; to the right we have Dollhouse’s Tano Sandal.

Though the tempting Tano lacks the strass heel seen in all of its blazing glory upon the Louboutin lovely; for the low price of $59.95, in comparison to the $3,325.00 price tag of its couture cousin, it is just as glamorous, and leaves room to splurge in other areas of your fashion-forward existence!

Is today the day for you to please the big spender within; or will you play it cool and be thrifty?

Fashionably yours!

Sunday Steals: Halston Heritage Stripe Lurex Pleated Cocktail Dress for Less

Kitty cats, to your left you will find Halston Heritage’s haute Stripe Lurex Pleated Cocktail Dress – the very same piece Sarah Jessica Parker wore while playing everyone’s favorite fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in the film Sex and the City 2; to your right you will see Go Jane’s Tiered Accordion Pleat Tank Dress.

While the shade of the jazzy Go Jane number is slightly less electrifying than the Halston Heritage original, and lacks the shimmer of the silver threading; for just $32.80, in comparison to the $435.00 price tag of the Halston hottie, it is every bit as glamorous – and leaves you room to pick up one in every color...coral, black, turquoise, and jade!

Which role have you decided to undertake on this saucy Sunday, kittens? Tightwad or spendthrift?

Fashionably yours!

Thrifty Thursday: Christian Louboutin Bow-T Dorcet Pumps for Pennies

My loves, to your left you will find Christian Louboutin’s blissful Bow-T Dorcet Pumps (formerly sold at Barney’s) – the very same sassy slippers which have been seen upon the tootsies of Sarah Jessica Parker; to the right you will find Paris Hilton’s Suarey Pump.

Though Paris’ pleasing pumps are a paler pink shade, and feature a pink sole as opposed to the red velvet cupcake colored bottom of Louboutin’s lovelies; for a mere $59.95, in comparison to the $895.00 price tag of the luscious Louboutin’s, they are just as essential to the dazzling debutante at heart’s burgeoning shoe collection. Plus, for their scanty price, you’ll have enough money left over to splurge on all five colors – pink, ivory, blue, black, and grey!

Who are you channeling today, darlings…the thrifty temptress or the sassy big spender?

Fashionably yours!

Tightwad Tuesday: Halston Heritage Stretch Jersey One Shoulder Mini Caftan on the Cheap

Dolls, to your left feast your eyes upon Halston Heritage’s haute Stretch Jersey One Shoulder Mini Caftan – the very same one that graced the form of Sarah Jessica Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) in Sex and the City 2 as she navigated the gorgeous foreign lands of Abu Dhabi; to your right take a gander at eDressMe’s One Shoulder Peach Cocktail Dress.

Though constructed out of 100% polyester, as opposed to the 100% silk that makes up the Halston Heritage beauty; for $115.00, in comparison to the $325.00 price tag of the smoldering Halston number, it is every bit as perfect for helping a glamorous gal like yourself channel her inner Carrie Bradshaw – and at a price far more savory to the budget fashionista’s savings account!

Which role have you decided to undertake on this terrific Tuesday, kittens? Tightwad or spendthrift?

Fashionably yours!

The Haute Hostess

Much like Samantha Sweeting, the star of Sophie Kinsella’s The Undomestic Goddess, I am what you would kindly refer to as domestically challenged. I can’t sew a stitch without pricking my finger. Whipping up a quick cake typically results in a mini fire. And using the dryer without shrinking my entire wardrobe? Completely impossible. But, I digress, while browsing through Costco yesterday, I came upon something that could transform me, you, or Sex and the City’s style savvy Carrie Bradshaw from the Undomestic Goddess into the Haute Hostess.

It is not everyday that I find myself wandering the fine china aisle, so I can only chalk it up to fate that I should decide to sashay that way on this particular day; for sitting there under secure lock and key was the most divine set of entertaining accessories one could ever hope to find. The Rosanna Flavored Martini 9-Piece is the fledgling fashion-forward entertainer’s dream come true. Why? It’s dressy not dowdy. Sleek never sloppy. And without a doubt ostentatious not old hat.

The four plates each showcase a different type of chichi beverage being orbited by colorful polka dots of varying sizes. The yellow bedecked piece represents the tart Lemon Martini. The tangerine adorned bit stands for the sweet Tangerine Martini. The green gilded arrangement expresses the slightly sour Apple Martini. And the punchy pink vignette embodies Ms. Bradshaw’s drink du jour, the Cosmopolitan. Each plate has a matching coaster which creates a very blissful and oh-so fashionable place setting. But my personal favorite is item numero neuf…the milky white serving tray sporting splashy pink polka dots, and illustrations displaying each swank drink. It is this last little touch that makes the Haute Hostess truly come to life.

Oh yes, I can already feel the undomestic goddess slipping away from me. Gone are the ballerina flats that were just adorning my feet; in their place, shimmery stilettos. My skinny jeans and billowy tunic have been replaced with a frou-frou frock. The understated band perched upon my index finger and charm found at my throat have morphed into a statement necklace and cocktail ring. My sloppy bedhead has been yanked into a chic chignon. And in my hand? The Rosanna Flavored Martini 9-Piece, of course. I’m about to introduce the Haute Hostess to the world…care to come to my debut?

America the Glamorous

Glamour is my new favorite magazine. Why, you ask? This photo shoot. Everything about the "American Icons" editorial is downright fabulous – from the females of the past they chose to feature, all the way to the female celebrities of today whom they used to depict these historical greats. This is one of those amazing finds that you don’t see everyday, but can’t seem to get enough of. What a fantastically fashion-inspired way to end the weekend!

Camilla Belle as Mary Tyler Moore. Mary Tyler Moore was like the Carrie Bradshaw of the 70s, sans the closet full of Manolo Blahniks, apartment in New York City, and constant search for the perfect guy. She was a career woman with great friends, and an even greater wardrobe full of retro wrapdresses and flared pants. Which is why Camilla Belle is the ideal person to portray her. Camilla has a wardrobe that most of us would love to call our own, plus she is the face of Vera Wang's Princess fragrance. Basically, she has it all. Including a pink coat (pictured at right) that reminds me so much of Legally Blonde. Did you know that there's an actual bronze statue of Mary Tyler Moore in Minneapolis?

Emma Roberts as Audrey Hepburn. I honestly feel that Audrey's role in Breakfast at Tiffany's clinched her inclusion on this list, and for good reason - it was one of the most elegant, chic, posh films of the 1900's. Plus, Audrey was undeniably beautiful in a very simple, sophisticated way - much like Emma Roberts. This is possibly one of my favorite pictures on earth because: a) A bouquet of pink balloons are present; b) That black dress is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen; c) The backdrop reminds me of the secret garden.

Alexis Bledel as Rosie the Riveter. Up until this morning, I had no idea who Rosie the Riveter was, even though I have seen - and adored - her picture since I was a toddler in saddle shoes. I do, however, know who Alexis Bledel is. In fact, I fancy myself to be Alexis Bledel, or, rather, her character on Gilmore Girls, minus the admission to Yale, rebellious boyfriends, trust fund, and assortment of school uniforms. This picture somewhat reminds me of one of those retro glamour girl pin-ups, just a tad more rough and tumble. Did you know who Rosie the Riveter was?

Emma Stone as Carrie Bradshaw. I do not know who Emma Stone is, but she may just be my new favorite person, thanks to her depiction of everyone's favorite Manolo-wearing, Cosmo-sipping Carrie Bradshaw. Carrie Bradshaw is the girl that we all aspire to be, with her nameplate necklaces, fabulous headwear, handful of debonair boyfriends who slip in and out of her life on a weekly basis, and life in New York City. She is the fashionista of our dreams. I so want to be her.

Two people I think were missing from this list include That Girl (who on the planet didn't want to be That Girl when they were growing up?), and Marilyn Monroe. If you could revise this list, who would you add and/or remove from it?

Fashionably yours!
