Kiss Me Through the Phone Giveaway

Kitty cats, it is absolutely no surprise that we would dream of receiving handwritten notes from our cute boy du jour, proffering sweet nothings scrawled in his haphazard handwriting; but the truth of the matter is that we are living in the age of technology, meaning that love letters have been replaced with something a little more moderne…text messaging. Nevertheless, regardless of how un petit note makes it’s way to you, it is essential that you forever have a handy dandy guide by your side ensuring that you are armed with the perfect response. And now one (1) of you ravishing romantics will have just that!

Café Fashionista has teamed up with authors Debra Goldstein and Olivia Baniuszewicz to bring one (1) of you beautiful bookworms (and daring daters!) an autographed copy of Flirtexting: How to Text Your Way to His Heart - an indispensable (and hot pink!) guide that has been praised by everyone from ELLE magazine's E. Jean and The Hills’ Kristin Cavallari, to yours truly (you can read my testimonial here). And soon, it will be praised by one (1) of you!

To Enter the Kiss Me Through the Phone Giveaway:

For one (1) entry, leave a comment on this post stating who your favorite person to flirtext is between now and Friday, January 14, 2011 at midnight PST.

For two (2) entries, Twitter about this giveaway, and leave a comment on this post stating who your favorite person to flirtext is between now and Friday, January 14, 2011 at midnight PST with your Twitter URL.

For three (3) entries, become a follower of Café Fashionista on Blogger/Google Reader/Google Friend Connect/Twitter, and leave a comment on this post stating who your favorite person to flirtext is between now and Friday, January 14, 2011 at midnight PST (if you are already a Café Fashionista follower, please say so in your comment).

I will randomly pick one (1) name out of a hat (who knows, it could be yours!), and announce the winner on Saturday, January 15, 2011.

Good luck everyone!

And yes, this Giveaway is open to everyone – U.S. or International residents!

Thrifty Thursday: Giuseppe Zanotti I96070 Boot on a Budget

My loves, on the left allow yourself to swoon at the gorgeousness of Giuseppe Zanotti’s I96070 Boot; to the right prepare to fall head over heels for rsvp’s smashing Sadee.

While Sadee proffers a heel that is half-an-inch lower than the 4 ½” offered by the glamorous Giuseppe; for a mere $71.20, as opposed to the $675.00 needed to add the Zanotti’s to your shoe collection, they harbor the very same capability of adding haute couture style to the budget babe’s shoe collection!

Will Giuseppe Zanotti tempt you into being a big spender, or will rsvp inspire you to save?

♥ Fashionably Moi! ♥

Wearing: Forever 21 Fab V-Neck Sweater in Oatmeal; Forever 21 Sequin Glam Mini; Nine West Convinceme Boots in Medium Brown; House of Harlow 1960 Key Cocktail Ring in Gold.

Reading: Remember Me (Remember Me Series # 1) by Christopher Pike.

Glamourizing: Nails: Orly Lunar Eclipse. A supernatural shade to welcome in le New Year, mais oui? Lips: mark Pro Gloss Hook Up Plumping Lip Shine in Sexy. Best. Lip color. Ever! Sérieusement. Eyes: CoverGirl Line Exact Liquid Liner in Very Black.

Listening: Umbrella by Rihanna. Oui, the torrential rains that have plagued Southern California over the past few weeks do have un petit to do with my present obsession with this song; nevertheless, J'adore à jamais!

Adoring: Rugged, lace-up, mountain man-esque boots with faux fur detailing and chunky heels. In other words, the Lucky Brand Eve. At le moment I covet these boots with every fiber of my being – especially in the French Roast hue. J’adore! Erin Bried’s How to Sew a Button: And Other Nifty Things Your Grandmother Knew. The old-fashion charm simply oozes from its pages; there is no doubt in my mind that Mrs. Cleaver herself would thoroughly approve of this pocket-sized gem! The reincarnation of one of my favorite shoes ever – the Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent Luella - a la the heavenly Jagger Zip Front Wedge Sandal. It may not be Luella; but I will gladly accept le jazzy Jagger in both Butterscotch and Natural. Size 5 ½, s'il vous plait!

Watching: Serendipity. This should explain my sudden desire to go ice skating with a devastatingly cute boy, and indulge in Frozen Hot Chocolate at none other than Serendipity 3 in New York City. Aimer l'amour!

Desiring: Dolce Vita Minnie High Heel Boots in Brown and Natural. When a boot is as fabuleux as these, buying two colors is not excessive…it’s necessity. Amour! Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 1 on DVD. Let me reiterate that…it’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer…enough said. Oliver Peoples Eyewear Zaya Sunglasses. Oh, to have enough spare cash to snag them in both glorious colors – Cocobolo and Black. Le sigh.

Quoting: Gossip Girl - “There are songs that make us want to dance, songs that make us want to sing along. But the best songs are the ones that pull you back to the moment you first heard them. And once again, break your heart.”

Awaiting: I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore, City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments Series # 1) by Cassandra Clare, and Kiki Strike: The Empress’s Tomb by Kirsten Miller. Hibernating for the winter is utterly impossible without a stack of fabueleux new books (and a mug of Toffee Mocha from Starbucks) by one’s side, mais oui?

But enough about moi; let’s talk about…vous. Time to give me the lowdown on your life, lovers! What are you up to this week?

Darlings, to the left take a peek at BB Dakota’s fabulous Janika Striped Faux Fur Vest; to the right prepare to gasp in amazement at Charlotte Russe’s Long Belted Faux Fur Vest.

Though the Charlotte Russe beauty proffers a longer hemline than the BB Dakota wonder, and features a removable belt that the higher-priced piece lacks; for just $20.00, as opposed to the $65.00 of the original, it adds the preemptive amount of furry goodness for walking in a winter wonderland to the frugal fashionista’s wardrobe – at a price that is too pretty to pass up!

I Want Chocolate Giveaway

Darlings, in the words of Linda Solegato, “A little chocolate is like a love affair - an occasional sweet release that lightens the spirit. A lot of chocolate is like marriage - it seems so good at first but before you know it you've got chunky hips and a waddle-walk.” Luckily for you, my loves, there is one form of chocolate that is just as decadent and delicious as the edible sweet; yet lacks the ability to pack on the pounds – and now one (1) of you charming chocoholics will be taking it home!

As a sweet surprise for Christmas Eve 2010, Café Fashionista has teamed up with the ever-scrummy Chocolate Handbags – whose designs have been seen dangling from the arms of everyone from Jersey Shore’s Snooki and JWoww, to The Social Network’s Brenda Song and Dancing with the Stars’ Audrina Patridge – to bring one (1) reader the Front Lock Clutch in the color of their choice – Purple, Green, Blue, or Tan.

To Enter the I Want Chocolate Giveaway:

Thrifty Thursday: Torn by Ronny Kobo Peasant Lace Long Skirt for a Steal

Darlings, in the left corner we have Torn by Ronny Kobo’s perfect Peasant Lace Long Skirt; to the right we have Forever 21’s luscious Lace Maxi Skirt.

While the Forever 21 pretty harbors one very slight difference – a hemline that is one-inch longer than the Torn by Ronny Kobo creation; for a mere $19.80, as opposed to the $194.00 required to add the classy Kobo to your closet, it is every bit as capable of adding a pinch of haute hippie whimsy to your wardrobe – at a price fit for the budget babe!

So mes chéris, what are you up to today? Will your AmEx take a beating with a splurge, or will you stay safe and thrifty with a frugal buy?

♥ Fashionably Moi! ♥

Wearing: Forever 21 Rib Knit Collar Bomber in Cream; Forever 21 Essential V-Neck Cami in Purple; 5-Mock Pocket Jeggings II in Dark Denim via Forever 21; Nine West Convinceme Boot in Medium Brown; Forever 21 Key to Love Double Ring.

Reading: Delicious Dating: The Single Girl’s Guide to Decoding Men By Their Wining and Dining Styles by Babe Scott. Can Babe please be my new BFF? Seriously, j’adore her! She is the foodie’s answer to Carrie Bradshaw – instead of comparing boys/relationships to designer duds, she compares them to dinner. Amour!

Glamourizing: Nails: Illamasqua Nail Varnish in DWS. Lips: Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Passion Fruit Pop. The very best part about this lippy? It tastes like a Cherry Otter Pop - mon préféré! Eyes: mark Mini Mark It Stick Hook Up Stick for Eyes in Cocoa Bean.

Listening: My Only Wish by Jessica Simpson.

Adoring: Impromptu excursions to San Diego’s Horton Plaza for shoe shopping at Nordstrom, ice skating at the Ice Rink at Horton Square, and Hot Chocolate at Starbucks. Non, I do not mind that I spend 97% of the time falling upon my Paige Denim-clad derriere – it is all part of le fun! Marc by Marc Jacobs’ Mouse Slippers with Sherpa Lining. Seeing as how Christmas Eve is a mere deux jours away, these seem incredibly approprie pour l'occasion, mais oui? After all, as the story goes…“Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…” Amour! Entire days spent decorating, baking, and wrapping gifts in my Circo Pink Cozy Pajama Set via Target. Oui, bought from the children’s section, but so incredibly cute, consenti? I believe that they were made specifically with Café Fashionista in mind – they are adorned with illustrated steaming mugs of hot cocoa!

Watching: ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas. Though I adore the common holiday fare such as Home Alone, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Eloise at Christmastime, The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th St., and A Christmas Story; two of my absolute favorite features are Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey and The First Christmas - both of which make me cry upon each viewing. Please, please, please if you have not yet seen them, do so tout de suite! They will give you a new appreciation for the holidays; and are so incredibly charming. J’adore!

Desiring: American Apparel’s Sparkle Pantyhose in Black/Silver and Black/Gold. The subtle shimmer creates quite the irrésistible illusion, if you ask me; prompting one’s many admirers to ask themselves, “Was there glitter on that girls gams?” Fabuleux, mais oui? I think so. Me les donner maintenant! Jessica Kerwin Jenkins’ Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights. After perusing a few pages via Barnes & Noble, I am convinced that my personal library is absolutely barren until this enchanting volume is added to it. For lack of better words, it reeks of Diana Vreeland and Marie Antoinette - J'ai besoin de tout de suite, s'il vous plait! Silky sleep and loungewear that whispers over one’s skin in a seductive yet oh-so coquettish fashion a la Club Monaco’s Lori Camisole, Marcella Shorts, Lori Bra, and Lori Knickers. Silk should be a staple in every glamorous girl’s lingerie drawer, oui?

Quoting: How I Met Your Mother’s Ted Mosby - “Shouldn’t we hold out for the person who doesn’t just tolerate our little quirks, but actually likes them?”

Awaiting: Jolly Old Saint Nick. I have already begun preparing his care package – a tradition I created back when I was seven. Carrots for the reindeer, cookies and milk for Santa himself, and a little box full of handmade ornaments for Mrs. Claus back at the North Pole. Given the fact that Santa has left me prezzies for years, it only seems fair to shower him (and his captivating cohorts) with a few, as well!

But enough about moi; let’s talk about…vous. Time to give me the lowdown on your life, lovers! What are you up to this week?

My loves, in the left corner we have FRYE’s fabulous Carmen Harness Tall – the very same ones seen donned by The Vampires Diaries’ Nina Dobrev; to the right take a gander at Forever 21’s Leatherette Biker Boots.

Though the Forever 21 pretties are constructed out of faux leather, as opposed to the true leather of the FRYE’s, and offer the wearer a slightly lower heel; for a mere $34.80, in comparison to the $358.00 of the originals, they are just as capable of adding a biker babe motif to your look du jour, at a price that allows you to pick up both colors – black and brown!

Quite the clever way to welcome a mouse into the house this winter, mais oui?; Chain-mail inspired baubles feminized with oversized chiffon bows – specifically Club Monaco’s Chunky Stretch Bracelet; Deepa Gurnani’s Crystal Wave Headband – a hair accessory with the power to transform the wearer into a Goddess merely by slipping it on. Though the heel of the majestic Mossimo’s is slightly lower (3.75 inches) than that of the wondrous Weitzman’s, and is constructed of textile materials as opposed to the haircalf upper of the originals; for a mere $29.99, in comparison to the $158.00 asking price of their haute couture counterparts, they are every bit as capable of adding a touch of high fashion ferocity to the fashionista’s shoe collection – on a frugalista budget!

♥ Fashionably Moi! ♥

Wearing: Mossimo Supply Co. Sweater Jacket in Burgundy via Target; Forever 21 Basic cotton Thermal Top in White; Mossimo Supply Co. Skinny Jean – Medium Vintage Wash via Target; Long Cuffable Scrunchable Socks in Natural via Sock Dreams; Steve Madden Maryn in Cognac; Forever 21 Antique Pendant Necklace; Rhinestone Arrow Connector Ring in Gold via Forever 21.

Reading: Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City by Kirsten Miller. It saddens me to admit that I have been harboring this book in my bedroom since its publication in 2006, and am only now getting the chance to read it. Regardless, I am positively hooked. I highly recommend it for the How to Take Advantage of Being A Girl list which can be found on pages 15-16 (of the hardcover version) alone. Incroyable! You will amour; marquer mes mots!

Glamourizing: Nails: Essie Blanc – hands down the most stunning winter white I have ever seen. Lips: mark Shine Tubes Hook Up Lip Gloss in Sugared Almond. Eyes: mark’s i-glimmer Illuminating Eye Color in Bronzed.

Listening: Lights by Ellie Goulding. There are no words to describe how obsessed I am with this song at the moment; it makes me think of twinkling fairy lights and glitter whenever I hear it! J'adore de l'infinité de temps!

Adoring: American Apparel’s Stretch Velvet Double U-Neck Long Sleeve Mini Dress – the epitome of true holiday style, mais oui? I find it incredibly irrésistible myself - amour! Mistletoe, mistletoe, and more mistletoe – specifically when it is in the possession of cute boys; sadly, it seems most often harbored by the undesirables. Très tragique, non? Nevertheless, j’adore it! Body-hugging turtleneck sweaters that transport the wearer back in time to 1960s Greenwich Village, New York and the world of beatnik poets and folkloric musicians a la BCBGMAXAZRIA’s Turtleneck in Black.

Watching: The Vampire Diaries: The Complete First Season. Non, it will never live up to the book series (which I simply cannot get enough of); but I find myself fairly smitten with Elena’s wardrobe. And really now, who could resist Stefan and Damon? You know you love them!

Desiring: Eugenia Kim’s Foxy Scarf – a rather childlike way of taking a walk on the wild side, consenti? A lifetime supply of Starbucks’ Caramel Brulee Latte. In all honesty, I would have no qualms with subsisting solely on this beverage for the remainder of my days. Why oh why must it be seasonal? Le sigh! Free People’s Lace Puff Sleeve Dress. I have yet to determine what I adore more – the ladylike lace construction, or the Lolita-esque aesthetic of the frock in its entirety. Is it just me or does it simply scream Blair Waldorf?

Quoting: Gossip Girl - “Sometimes, you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you want to be.”

Awaiting: Divine Rights of Denim Grey Wash Skinny Jeans via Forever 21. I have been on quite the denim kick as of late; I believe that 50% of my wardrobe now consists of skinny jeans, and the other 50% is devoted to boots - there is very little room for anything else. L'amour, l'amour, l'amour!

But enough about moi; let’s talk about…vous. Time to give me the lowdown on your life, lovers! What are you up to this week?

Tightwad Tuesday: Tibi Sequin Blazer on a Budget

Lovers, back in November of 2009 I introduced you to Tibi’s tantalizing Sequin Blazer as part of a Café Fashionista Tightwad Tuesday post; but with the season of sparkle upon us, I felt that it was high time to revisit the spectacular piece – with an even more fabulous look-alike version for the frugalista!

In the left corner, take a peek at Tibi’s Sequin Blazer, sparkling in all of its haute couture glory; in the right corner, allow your pretty peepers to savor the twinkling decadence that is Shock Boutique’s Sequin Blazer in Black – a similar style of which has been seen gracing the form of everyone’s favorite stylist, one Ms. Rachel Zoe.

While the Shock Boutique beauty proffers a more feminine fit than the tempting Tibi; for a mere $54.00, in comparison to the $598.00 needed to take the Tibi home, it is the preemptive piece to add to your wardrobe if you’re looking to add a little shimmer to your style – at a price that no glamorous gal could possibly refuse!

Adoring: Oversized baubles encrusted with jewel-toned stones that make the wearer feel like a true royal a la Dannijo’s Baila Ring; Foiled frocks with coquettish detailing like Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent’s Corset Dress with Pleating; Saucy skinnies in charcoal hues with metallic understones – specifically Paige Denim’s Verdugo Jeggings; Sophisticated accoutrements that are subtly flashy and tongue-in-cheek chic a la Club Monaco’s Cora Sequin Jacket; Quilted ballerinas that are every bit as cozy and comfy as they are fabulous courtesy of Sam Edelman's Calypso in Pewter; Madewell’s Ice Cluster Bib Necklace – a preemptive way for one to channel their inner Snow Queen, mais oui?; Metallic polishes with a touch of pretty pastel such as Nicole by OPI’s Light A Candle.

Tell me, my loves; what are you currently adoring?

Twinkle Toes Giveaway

Lovers, you may have already hung your Christmas stockings there above the fireplace; but for all of those holiday-themed parties, a glamorous gal like vous is in dire need of a different form of Christmas stockings – the kind you can wear to keep your toes toasty and twinkling while you’re dancing the night away in a pair of black patent leather platform peep-toes, or glittering strappy sandals that make jaws drop. And now one (1) of you daring divas will be taking precisely that home in the form of un petit trio of prezzies from none other than Voet Hosiery!

Thrifty Thursday: Alice + Olivia Chevron Dress with Tie for Less

Darlings, to the left you will find Alice + Olivia’s pretty in pink Chevron Dress with Tie – the very same one seen donned by Elisabeth Hasselbeck during a taping of The View; to the right take a peek at the sassy Summer at the Hamptons Dress in Pink via Lulu*s.

While the lovely Lulu*s is ever so slightly shorter than its haute couture counterpart; for just $56.00, as opposed to the $368.00 needed to make the Alice + Olivia original your very own, it is every bit as capable of giving you a crisp, nautical, high fashion look year-round, at a price that doesn’t break the bank!

So mes chéris, what are you up to today? Will your AmEx take a beating with a splurge, or will you stay safe and thrifty with a frugal buy?

Fashionably yours!

Thanks to Shopbop and Lulu*s for the pictures.

♥ Fashionably Moi! ♥

Wearing: Xhilaration Faux Shearling Bomber Jacket in Dark Brown via Target; Forever 21 Fab V-Neck Sweater in Oatmeal; Forever 21 5Mock Pocket Jeggings II in Dark Denim; Forever 21 Rhinestone Arrow Connector Ring.

Reading: All Things Bright and Beautiful by James Herriot. Herriot’s work – specifically The Christmas Day Kitten - is what inspired me to want to be a Veterinarian as a child. While I never actually became one, I still amour his work!

Glamourizing: Nails: Essie Chocolate Cakes (sometimes referred to as Chocolate Kisses). Très scrummy - le color and the dessert it is named for. Lips: mark Shine Tubes Hook Up Lip Gloss in Buttercream Brioche. Eyes: Maybelline New York The Colossal Volum’ Express in Glam Black.

Listening: The Ice Is Getting Thinner by Death Cab for Cutie. Listen tout de suite and you will see precisely why j’adore this song so much. C'est magnifique; Je suis obsédé!

Adoring: Night drives through random neighborhoods to admire the holiday decorations – I highly recommend making un petit stop at Starbucks for White Hot Chocolate beforehand…it makes the entire experience more fabuleux! Sequins, sequins, sequins! Specifically Siwy’s Sequin Hannah Slim Crop Pants, Haute Hippie’s Sequin Stripe Sleeve Dress, and DKNY’s Dolman Sleeve Sequin Sweater. Ooh, love love love! Me le donner maintenant! Lazy afternoons spent whipping up yummy treats in the kitchen! On the menu this weekend is Pretzel Peanut Bark, Hidden Mint Cookies, and Chocolate Pretzels. Délicieux, délicieux, délicieux!

Watching: Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Though my first introduction to one Miss Holly Golightly was via the Truman Capote novella of the same title, I have grown to aimer, admire, et adorer her even more with each viewing. Now, who cares to join me in front of Tiffany’s with flaky croissants and hot chocolate? See you on Fifth Avenue at 8:00am sharp, mes amours!

Desiring: American Apparel’s Wool Cape. No fabuleux girl of the Twenty-First Century should be forced to suffer without a cape in her wardrobe – it is the height of haute; the definition of decadence; the epitome of elegance. J'adore de l'infinité de temps! Very Merry Cookie Party: How to Plan and Host a Cookie Party Exchange by Barbara Grunes – an absolute élément essential for the home library, if you ask me; one should always be ready for a Cookie Swap Party, mais oui? Steve Madden’s Bbryn Satchel. Non, there is no reason to ask me which color I so désir; I would gladly accept any and all of the three heavenly hues – though I do have a soft spot for the Olive.

Quoting: Lady Gaga - “Some women choose to follow men, and some women choose to follow their dreams. If you’re wondering which way to go, remember that your career will never wake up in the morning and tell you that it doesn’t love you anymore.”

Awaiting: Forever 21’s Fab Knit Cami in Heather Gray, Indigo, and Orange. I am le queen of layering; a girl can never have too many cami’s in her closet!

But enough about moi; let’s talk about…vous. Time to give me the lowdown on your life, lovers! What are you up to this week?

Fashionably yours!
