Smitten Saturday

Savoring Sparkles I’m truly angry at whomever convinced you that sparkles were nothing more than a bit of arts and crafts supplies handed off to wild and crazy kindergartners to keep them quiet in between nap and snack time. That person was sadly mistaken, loves! The truth of the matter is that sparkles can be either here or there. One moment they can be dancing in your hair, the next they may be outfitting a favored Gryphon frock. But perhaps my absolute favorite format to savor sparkles is via regal refreshments. That’s right, a beverage that beams brilliantly from its position in a first-rate flute sitting pretty in your cocktail ring embellished hand is almost as important as the shoes adorning your feet, or the clutch clasped tightly in your magnificently-manicured fist. After all, one who looks as stunning as you deserves a pretty drink to accompany her as she wows the room with her presence. As such, accessorize with burbling apple cider, complement your Camilla Skovgaard Chain Sandals with a glittering glass of cranberry juice, and cuddle up with a goblet brimming with white grape juice that will make your jewels beam brighter than you ever thought possible! How will you be savoring sparkles come New Year’s Eve, darlings?

Ribbon Dancer Old habits die hard; or rather, in my case, they rarely die at all! Since I was a teeny, tiny toddler traipsing down the stairs precociously a la Kay Thompson’s Eloise, I have found that the wrapping used to conceal the gifts my family had spent hours choosing just for me was oftentimes more interesting than the gift itself. Specifically, the yards of shimmering ribbon tied daintily around each pleasing package. Throughout the course of the morning, as everyone gathered round the tree to exchange presents, I would spend much of my time hoarding the cast-aside pieces of ribbon, intent on using it to accouter myself with in some way at a more appropriate moment. But why on earth should one waste valuable family time hunting for stunning streamers tossed to the wayside, when you can simply buy blissful ensembles already laced with such a dazzling decoration? ASOS Oversized Belted T-Shirt Jersey Dress is a stunning way to wrap yourself up in all sorts of wonderful even on the most casual of days. One can’t help but feel like a life-size present – and a glamorous one at that! – when adorned in Notte by Marchesa’s Ribbon-Trimmed Silk-Chiffon Dress. Charlotte Russe’s Rose Jacquard Corset receives an extremely feminine fix via the addition of a satin ribbon tie about the waist. And please be prepared for jaws to drop when wearing Forever Unique’s Ribbon & Velvet Trim Dress, for it has the power to hypnotize. Ready to become a card-carrying member of the ribbon dancer brigade, loves?

Fairy Tale I thought about waiting for a cute boy to arrive and sweep me off my feet in the hopes of creating a fairy tale with one another; but no. I suppose I’m not the most patient of individuals; therefore I am taking matters into my own hands and creating a fairy tale all my own via petite holiday-influenced fairy cakes that even Peter’s pal Tinkerbell would approve of. Now, I have told you all time and time again that I am not the most handy person in the kitchen. In fact, in the past two years alone I am guilty of having concocted half-baked banana nut bread, hard as rock sugar cookies, and soupy pumpkin pie; hence the reason why I am leaving it up to the professionals to create the fairy cakes of my whimsical imagination a reality. First I’ll visit Fairy Cakes Bakery to scoop up a dozen of their spicy Pumpkin White Chocolate offerings; next I’ll pick up the Holiday Peppermint Twist from Kara’s Cupcakes as a last farewell to the Christmas season; and to round my fairy cake jaunt up I’ll pay a visit to Cupcake Royale for the cake version of Figgy Pudding, Eggnog, and Candy Cane. Who wants to join me on my fairy tale?!

That’s A Wrap! Darlings it wasn’t me who said it, so stop pointing fingers! It was Vaughn Monroe who first stated in 1945 “Oh the weather outside is frightful…” as the opening bars of Let It Snow. All I am doing is reiterating his proclamation, as I absolutely could not agree more – the weather is frightful; combating it, however, is not. As long as you have a cocoon sweater, that is! Why on earth do you think that wriggling caterpillars emerge from cocoons as full-fledged flittering butterflies? I believe it is due to the fact that there is no more cozy location to hibernate for even a short period of time; which is why it is obvious for optimal warmth and worldliness in your wear, a cocoon sweater is your best bet. Skinny jeans will never be the same again when partnered with Paul & Joe’s Cocoon Sweater in Black which drapes in the most dazzling of ways. Silence & Noise’s Stitch Detail Cocoon Cardigan is an affordable way to retain savoir faire in any situation. And Mason’s Cocoon Sweater in Gray is a playful way to protect your form from the cool chill in the air while looking completely posh. Christmas may be over, but Santa baby, do you think that you could pretty please with a cherry on top drop these last few items down the chimney? I’ll be extra good the whole year through!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

Darling over the past twenty-something years I feel that we have developed quite the strong bond with one another. You’ve seen me through chipped teeth and Barbie obsessions, and I still maintain that, at the ripe old age of seven, I spotted you in our Southern California apartment (though to this day there is not one living soul who believes me). Between you and me, however, we know it’s true; so don’t try to deny it. You wouldn’t want to end up on the Naughty list now would you, Mr. Claus?

And Mrs. Claus! Though I have never corresponded with her directly, I’m sure she has a soft spot for me. After all, I was the one who packed a small suitcase full of chocolate chip cookies and homemade potholders crafted by my first-grade fingers for you to bring back to the North Pole especially for her – which, might I add, was missing when I awoke on Christmas morning; a sure sign that you took it on your way out the door (or rather, up the chimney).

But I digress; this year my letter is slightly different. While there are countless items I would love to call my own (namely the Brooklyn Bridge Double-Finger Ring introduced to me by Mayra), I am not writing to request beaming baubles or flashy frippery; for Christmas 2009 I am asking only for gifts which give back to others, that way there are no losers in terms of prezzies, only winners all around!

Wishingfish “Lucky Beggar Purse” Kitty cats, if you weren’t already aware, though a hunch on my part tells me you were, I am a coffee lover who has never been able to resist the lure of an adorable handbag or home for my spare change. Thus the reason the Lucky Beggar Purse is wholeheartedly calling my name. The brainchild of artist George Skelcher; the Lucky Beggar Purse evolved from inspiration found right on the sidewalks of New York City via homeless panhandlers using decomposing coffee cups as their own personal pocketbooks. Blue, white, and gold in color, and emblazoned with the words “We Are Happy to Serve You,” the Lucky Beggar Purse, which was once exhibited in an NYC art gallery, is a little slice of East Coast history that will make you appreciate the good things, and feel proud of how you helped others, as part of the proceeds from each purse go straight to HELP USA.

DKNY Jeans “‘Believe’ T-Shirt” I truly feel that there is no better way to inspire a little hope in not only oneself, but in the people surrounding you, than by what you wear; and DKNY Jeans’ “Believe” T-Shirt is a preemptive way in doing just that. A part of the DKNY Capsule Collection created just for St. Jude’s Hospital’s Thanks and Giving Campaign, which inflames shopaholics like you and me to “give thanks for the healthy kids in your lives and to give to those who are not”; the black, silvertone stud embellished Believe tee is the perfect topper to a pair of black as night bottoms, like Community Denim’s Low Rise Skinny Jeans with Zip, or a slinky bandage skirt for an urbane look that makes you feel good both inside and out!

LUSH “Charity Pot Lotion” Santa, you know this better than anyone given your job description, but we are in the throes of winter, and that spells absolute disaster for one’s skin. The wind whipping us about to and fro is tyrannical, and downright detrimental to our dermis; therefore, I (and I’m sure all of you are as well) am in need of a moisturizer that will protect and enhance my exterior, and the one I choose is LUSH’s Charity Pot Potion. Not only does it make you smell like a spring garden; but all proceeds go to the LUSH charity of your choice. Would it be too much to ask for two pots? I’d like to support 4 Paws for Ability as well as Reach for the Rainbow, s’il vous plait!

What purchases are you making to give back this holiday season?

Fashionably yours!

Smitten Saturday

Card Shark Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that, as a creative thinker who peruses the right side of my brain far more than the left, I am utterly incapable of resisting the power of an ambrosial holiday card gussied up with whimsical illustrations coupled with charming season’s greetings that assist in ringing in the New Year right. In fact, since we’re being completely honest here, I might as well just come clean and admit that I adore the greeting cards attached to the gift, almost as much as the gift itself. I am a firm believer in the fact that much more time is put into etching the appropriate sentiments into the folds of a splendrous piece of stationary than is devoted into picking out the perfect present; thus, one must always ensure that the card in question is both memorable and magical.

For the fashionista in your life, Bonnie Marcus’ Fashion Folded Card, announcing Have a fashionable holiday, is something that will be treasured until the end of time; Renee Rivas’ Fashionista Christmas Holiday Greeting Cards are destined to adorn office cubicles year-round and bring to mind get-togethers with the girls; and Olivia A. Myers’ Downtown Christmas Greeting Card is a preemptive way of wishing your BFF the best this holiday season, while reminding her that shopping during the entire month of December is meant to be guilt-free – so scoop up those See by Chloe Lace Tights, splurge on sass & bide’s When You’re Older Dress, and snatch Son of John’s Heidi Sequin Tank with Racer Back sans guilt! What type of card shark are you?

Celebratory Mail Call Darlings, I’m not bragging when I say this, I’m merely speaking the truth…I may be one of the most skilled Online shoppers you will ever meet; but Sidney of Olive Writes recently reawakened my adoration of mail order catalogs, a feat which has literally dragged me away from my laptop, at least for a handful of hours, plopped me smack dab in the middle of the couch bundled up in a plaid throw, and left me flipping through page after page of pleasantry. Blame it upon the Christmas spirit or attribute it to a desire to channel the pre-computer age child within, but there is truly nothing as charming and simplistic as curling up with a cup of hot cocoa in front of a flickering fireplace, and swooning over catalogs depicting fashionably dressed models frolicking in faux snow, or families decking the halls with popcorn-strung garlands in matching pajama sets. It’s an enchanting experience that one absolutely must take the time to savor; especially during the holiday season. Thus, turn on the twinkling fairy lights, turn off the overheads, and snuggle in for the cold winter’s night with J. Crew, Anthropologie, Free People, Urban Outfitters, and a multitude of others – after all, it’s a celebratory mail call…don’t you want to be a part of it?

Ornamentary, My Dear Watson In the first grade I arrived home for the start of Christmas vacation with a pine cone slathered in peanut butter and rolled in a bird seed medley dangling from the tip of my finger. Such a creation was meant for adorning the shrubbery in the front yard; yet I took it upon myself to hang it from the tree sitting pretty in our over-decorated living room, already crowded with gifts wrapped in paper spotted with illustrations of Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer. Two days later the family awoke to a loud humming sound, only to discover that our beautifully decorated tree was covered in ants jubilantly feasting on the sticky surprise. Despite the merry mishap which resulted in swiftly doing away with the topiary, there was no lapse in happiness around the household. Why? Because the disastrous decoration in question was crafted with my very own pint-sized hands.

Darlings we must simply face the facts; the ornaments in which we use to trim the tree each year harbor an unmatched type of spirit and magic. They dictate our likes and dislikes; the memories we have shared; and the adventures we have experienced over the years. As such, we must ensure that our trees our outfitted in nothing but the best. Hang Henri Bendel’s 2009 Signature Fifth Avenue Ornament from the highest bough while donning a daring design by David Lerner. Showcase your shopaholic side by draping Nordstrom’s 2009 Shopping Bag Ornament over a beatific branch while teetering in a pair of Tory Burch platforms. Or highlight your love of the Big Apple with Kurt Adler’s New York City Glass Ornament while decked out in Bing Bang bling. Just please do us all a favor and steer clear of the peanut butter!

Pretty Maids All in a Bow Lovelies, perhaps I’m only speaking for myself, but I have spent the past week wrapping gifts like crazy, topping each one with a shimmering bow that crinkles when poked, and twinkles like the brightest star when simply gazed upon; but adorning presents with such embellishments is truly not enough. As strange as it may sound, I am feeling an overwhelming desire to, in the very same fashion as Blair Waldorf, accouter myself in bows, bows, and more bows! Really now, why on earth should glorious gifts have all the fun – we deserve a little bow action ourselves; and bow action we shall have! I truly cannot imagine anything looking more lovely when paired with an ambrosial party frock than Felix Rey’s gold Greta Satin Bow Clutch festooned with a bright red ribbon that would make even Santa Claus himself giddy. Turn heads just as much when you leave a room as when you enter it with Anthropologie’s Victorian-inspired Grand Exit Boots – an ideal complement to a wrap tunic and ebony leggings. There’s no doubt that you would easily pave the way of the holiday party if decked out in Foley + Corinna’s Satin Bow Dress. And obviously one is never fully dressed without the playful sophistication of Derek Lam’s Halter Top with Side Bow adorning her upper half. Tell me darlings, are you a pretty maid all in a bow?

Fruit Loop Do you think me absolutely absurd for being ever so slightly obsessed with fruitcake? I have heard the proclamations of how unappetizing each bite is; I’ve gazed upon its somewhat grotesque appearance; I’ve curiously poked its candied coating with a well-manicured fingernail numerous times through the cellophane and plastic wrap embellishing its nutty form in grocery stores all over Southern California. Yet, all this aside, my interest is still piqued. There is something so decadently appealing about a dessert that emerges solely for the holidays, and often takes up to three months to perfect – an aging process that is incredibly bizarre yet enthralling. Given the fact that, just a few days away from Christmas day, I obviously don’t have enough time to so much as attempt to craft my own; I have decided to splurge on a pastry up to the task of adorning the table come the big day (though there are no promises that it will be used for anything more than a pretty decoration).

Cabela’s Grandma’s Famous Fruitcake is a favorite due to the fact that it comes wrapped in a holiday-themed reusable tin and sports the word Grandma in the title, making it sound like a homemade surprise from a beloved relative! ClaxSnax from Claxton Fruit Cake is a kitschy table favor for holiday guests due to the fact that each slice comes individually packaged a la chewy fruit snacks so no difficulty with cutting the nut-filled creation takes place. And it is impossible to think that Harry & David’s Traditional Fruitcake could be anything less than posh, glamorous, and luscious for the sheer fact that everything from Harry & David is pure heaven. Tell it to me straight…what is your experience with fruitcake? I need details darlings!

Red Light District While red, white, and green have always marked the trio of hues that so fully complement the season of peace on earth, goodwill to all men, and season’s greetings; when it comes to accoutering oneself in a singular shade for the holidays, I have always found that red does the trick masterfully. The color itself holds so much symbolism in terms of being seductive, romantic, and rambunctious all at once. It retains the ability to juxtapose between tranquility and rowdiness; yet never fails to come across as sophisticated and haut monde. And, of course, we cannot forget that it turns heads no matter the place or time. Therefore it is of the utmost importance that you don such a dye with wild abandonment! Pair ShopMamie’s One-Shoulder Socialite Dress in Crimson with black leggings and ebony riding boots. Style Unknown Factory’s Biker Skinny Jeans alongside an asymmetrical tank. Top a plain white tee with Rag & Bone’s Honeycomb Cardigan. Or simply perch Bop Basics’ Cashmere Beret atop your head for a touch of French flair. Are you seeing red, kitty cats?

Smitten Saturday

Sipping the Season I’ve never been one to ignore the holidays. There’s something about watching the decorations go up, and experiencing the joys of the season that literally makes me giddy until we’re well into the New Year. But I musn’t fib – or at least I shouldn’t. It is not just the spirit of Christmas which sends thrills and shivers up and down my spine for weeks on end, nor is it the catchy holiday tunes that are constantly spiraling through my mind. Mais non! The truth of the matter is that, aside from those addictive aspects, I simply cannot get enough of seasonal drinks! I know that they’re not necessarily the healthiest beverages on the block, but there’s something quite irresistible about being able to taste Christmas with each swallow. The Toffee Nut Latte, the Dark Cherry Mocha, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, the Peppermint Mocha, the Caramel Brulee Latte, the Gingerbread Latte, the Eggnog Latte… – kitty cats, I can’t help myself; I want to sample a different flavor with each passing day! How will you sip the season?

Easy Rider I will admit that my foray into horsemanship consisted of a handful of pony rides as a child, and a lifelong obsession with pop-up carousels that play whimsical music as you spin round and round upon plastic horses; but that has certainly not stopped me from developing an extreme obsession with equestrian styles in terms of fashion – specifically of the footwear variety. Darlings, it is my conviction that whether worn in the dead of winter with skinny jeans, or paired with cutoff denim shorts during the final days of a sultry Indian summer, riding boots are a necessity of the utmost importance – especially when they have a touch of weatherbeaten, rustic flair to their aesthetic. Frye’s Dorado Suede Riding Boot in Sand, with its seam detailing and distressed styling, is a stunning way to accessorize a flirty, floral-embellished flowy tank and dark wash skinnies. The faux-fur lined cuff of Sam Edelman’s Women’s Newport Flat Riding Boot in Black is a sophisticated way to add a splash of coziness to your look du jour. The creamy hue of Chrisantha’s Riding Boot in Mushroom is a high-fashion way to brighten up a low-key ensemble. And Rosegold’s Manon Riding Boot in Grey? Let’s be honest kittens…your body-hugging black leggings will never be the same. Ready to horse around?

A Date to Remember Despite the age of technology, each December I find myself eagerly scrounging the shops for a true pocket-sized calendar that I can hold in my hand. Something that doesn’t beep or require the use of buttons to input important dates or destinations that I simply cannot forget – like a romantic tryst involving an indoor picnic and a cute boy; or a dreaded yet necessary appointment with an obnoxious co-worker. Oui, it’s extremely old-fashioned; but the nostalgia adds such a vintage spice to life that is both quaint and charming – and, of course, extremely beneficial for those moments when twenty-first century luxuries fail. Thus, the hunt is on; and the contenders are making their way into my world in droves. Already I have been mesmerized by the whimsy of Kate Spade’s 2010 Spiral Desktop Calendar; smelled the roses proffered by Cath Kidston’s floral-bedecked 2010 Mini Agenda; gotten dreamy with the 8 Days A Week Planner; cooed over the cuteness of the Sukie Agenda; and come to the conclusion that I simply cannot make up my mind – I need them all! Dolls, do you keep a date book as well, or do you rely solely on technology?

You’ve Got Questions; They’ve Got Answers Darlings, obviously we can’t all afford our own personal stylists. As much as we’d love to simply ring up a hot to trot expert whenever we’re in a fashion jam, it’s simply not possible. Nevertheless, it’s no surprise that we adore celebrity style, and long to mimic the looks of our favorite starlets. StyleQ makes doing so a cinch. Not just an Online retailer, StyleQ literally gives you the chance to shop side by side (virtually, that is) with the people who personally dress some of today’s hottest stars – including Leighton Meester, Rachel Bilson, Kristen Bell, and Scarlett Johansson – learning everything you could possibly want to know about channeling your own celebrity, and styling your chosen pretty. Currently I’m coveting the Sheer Ruffle Top by Jonesy, recently worn by Sophia Bush; the Wool Swing Cropped Coat loved by Rihanna; and the Natalie Silk Dress in Green so effortlessly worn by Kristen Bell. Whose celebrity stylist would you like to spend a little one on one time with?

Tightwad Tuesday: Tibi Sequin Blazer at a Bargain

Since my quest for a bewitching blazer that is slim-fitting, sophisticated, and perfect for any occasion has sent me on a virtual goose chase for the past four months in which I have come up completely empty-handed, I have decided to go the opposite route. Oui, I have come to the conclusion that now is the preemptive time to embrace my own personal ABC’s of the ideal blazer: audacious, bold, and cheeky; and given the time of year currently upon us, the holiday season when all three are more than welcome in our wardrobes, I see absolutely nothing wrong with doing so. Farewell to fusty, hello flamboyance!

I suppose I should explain myself. After all, it’s only fair to you, my many beloveds, to let you in on what I am going on and on about, so I will. Sequins. Say it with me now, kittens…sequins. The way the word so much as slithers off your tongue is indicative enough of its splendor; but gracing a woven jacket making it possible for you to sparkle as brightly as the twinkling fairy lights adorning a Christmas tree causes them to be so much more covetable. Hence the reason Tibi’s Sequin Blazer has landed on my radar in a way that no other covering has managed to before.

While built like a blazer with front flap pockets and subtle lapels, Tibi’s Sequin Blazer harbors a fluidity; a dazzling poetry in motion in its shape, which is more reminiscent of a cozy, breathable knit cardigan, as opposed to a boxy, structured blazer. It is this fit alone which creates a yearning within me to dress it down for a day of shopping with leggings and a worn-in pair of slouchy suede boots; or dress it up for a posh party full of scrummy boys by coupling it with black skinnies and sky-high heels. Take into account the fact that this particular piece manages to juxtapose between being theatrical and inconspicuous at the very same point in time, and it is obvious that you have found extravagance at its very, very best.

But non; not everything about Tibi’s Sequin Blazer is fabulous. Case in point, the $598.00 price tag. While gorgeous in all of its glittering charm, an amount so near to the four-digit mark is quite intimidating – especially given the current state of the economy, and the amount of names on my holiday shopping list. Therefore, so long Tibi, welcome to my world Sequin Embellished Jacket!

For $27.80, Forever 21’s Sequin Embellished Jacket retains almost an identical ability to make you shimmer, sparkle, and shine in the same fashion as Tibi’s Sequin Blazer, at a fee much more friendly to the shopaholic fashionista’s wallet.

Question time…tightwad? Spendthrift? Which role will you glimmer in today?

Wrap It Up!

Darlings with the holidays just around the corner I’m sure you think that I’m discussing the use of gift bags, ribbons, and boxes with kitschy designs covering them to cloak the presents you are buying for a sneaky younger sister, an attentive cute boy, or even a boisterous pooch, when I whisper the phrase “wrap it up.” Non! While that is precisely what I should be referring to given the fact that we are nearly in mid-November, and my Christmas shopping hasn’t even begun; the true innuendo of my “wrap it up,” is TOMS Wrap Boot.

For ages I have been bombarded with praise of TOMS Canvas Slip-Ons, which virtually juxtapose between prim and proper ballerina flats, and androgynous eco-friendly sneakers; but I am a boot lover. Winter, spring, summer, or fall you will find my tiny tootsies most often shrouded in a faux suede slouch boot, or structured cognac-hued riding boot; therefore, I thought that TOMS had absolutely nothing to offer me in terms of footwear. To put it bluntly…I was dead wrong.

Slightly reminiscent of the ACE bandages I so often found myself donning during my second grade obsession with skateboarding; TOMS Wrap Boots are actually inspired by the popularized Argentine polo, and the ebulliently shaded leg wraps donned by the champion horses that participate in such a sport.

No longer do we ladies have to search for the ideal pair of skinny jeans that will fully accommodate a boot to gracefully slither over their denim surface without being too tight or uncomfortable. With TOMS Wrap Boot you simply slip your foot into the shoe, then lace the wrap around your bare leg, or jeans, and voila; a makeshift boot that contours to your body, and hugs your leg in the most seductive and stylish of ways.

Red, chocolate brown, rust, ash, black, navy, olive…what color is calling your name?

Fashionably yours!

New York, I Love You...

“You’d have to be crazy to live in New York City, but you’d have to be nuts to live anywhere else.”
Unknown

It was not too long ago (just a few short weeks, to be exact) in which I proclaimed that I would be doing absolutely no traveling in the near future; but kittens, just as fashions change in the blink of an eye, so do holiday plans – and mine have changed in the most splendrous of ways. No longer will I be resigned to spending the Christmas season viewing the tree in Rockefeller Center from the cozy comforts of my couch. This year I shall be spending the holidays in the Big Apple, where I plan on making good use of the thick scarves and knee-high boots that so often never make their way out of my closet due to the constant Southern California sunshine.

For two weeks I plan on gallivanting all over the City like a giddy schoolgirl, soaking up as much culture and creativity as I possibly can. But until then…well, I’m positively beside myself. The thought of waiting ten long weeks to finally embark on such an amazing destination seems like an unbearable lifetime. Tell me darlings…how on earth can I possibly concentrate on College Algebra when my thoughts are consumed with visions of the bright lights of Times Square, adorable sidewalk cafes in the East Village, and shopping sprees along Fifth Avenue; not to mention stops at various cupcake shops to appease my sweet tooth? By bringing a smidgen of New York City right to my bedroom, of course!

Flair4All’s removable wall decals are what I think of as interior decorating for the girl on the go. Toss out the paint cans, and forget about dealing with a messy clean-up; Flair4All gives you the chance to accessorize your abode with minimal hassle. Love music? Vintage Vinyl is sure to make your heart sing. Adore nature? Bird Blossoms is bound to make you smile. Looking to get spotty? Polka Dots will do the trick. While I adore all of these choices, at present there is only one that I want embellishing my bedroom walls; and that mes chéris, is Skylines NYC.

It may not be a punchy pink; but the black and blue hues seemingly cha-cha alongside one another in a stunning, four-foot long swirl-imbued silhouette of one of the things I adore most about the City that never sleeps: the skyline. Falling asleep beneath this beauty for the next ten weeks is bound to keep the excitement regarding my fast-approaching vacation to a minimum; yet remind me of the wondrous sights I will soon be experiencing up close and personal.

“Something’s always happening here. If you’re bored in New York, it’s your own fault.”
Myrna Loy

I'm off to visit the Flair4All Fan Page myself. Now, which Flair4All do you want adorning your walls?

Aren't You Glad for Plaid?

The holidays may be over, but I’m still in quite a festive mood due in large part to the fact that…this past year, it didn’t feel like Christmas at all! So I’ve decided to prolong the holidays by turning to something that couldn’t remind me more of Christmas – plaid.

I remember wearing big, red plaid bows when I was a toddler that had the ability to make you feel happy and bright year-round, and that’s what Dolce & Gabbana’s ad campaign is doing for me right now.

How could you not fall for plaid after viewing this ad? It has all of the qualities of festiveness…the red. The togetherness. The crisp, cool weather. It’s the epitome of high fashion holiday style.
